Geneva Motor Show: The electric cars you need to see.

Geneva Motor Show takes place this March (8th to 18th) and it’s set to showcase more new EVs than you can shake a CHAdeMO plug at.

Jaguar has confirmed it’ll display the production version of its i-Pace at the show, having previewed it on March 1 ahead of its official Geneva launch.

Its 90kWh battery gives it a range of almost 300 miles, and with these statistics it is a direct rival to the Tesla Model X.

Engineers have future-proofed the electrical architecture of the i-Pace to accept higher-capacity charging than 50kW DC when such charging points become commonplace. The i-Pace will be able to fast charge to 80% of its battery capacity within 45 minutes when using a 100kW charger.

We’re already prepared for this. Our charging stations can be upgraded to provide up to 350kW with some simple upgrades.

Meanwhile, Honda is taking three of its electric concepts to the show. First up, the Urban EV Concept will make a return to Europe following its global premiere at Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017. The retro-looking model is due to be worked up into a production version for launch next year.

Honda will also display the Sports EV Concept and the highly-anticipated NeuV. First shown at the Consumer Electronics Show last year, the NeuV is packed with autonomous features and artificial intelligence.

Mitsubishi will use Geneva for the global premiere of the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. The latest model features a complete redesign of its powertrain, sharper dynamics and a more refined interior.

The new 2019 Outlander PHEV is set to be introduced to the European market towards the end of the year. Previous iterations have held the title of Europe’s best-selling plug-in hybrid so Mitsubishi will no doubt be hoping the latest model follows in their footsteps.

Geneva Motor Show is also set to tick the boxes for speed fans. The new electric performance brand Polestar is bringing its Polestar 1 model to Geneva.

The Polestar 1 is an Electric Performance Hybrid GT with 600hp, 1000Nm of torque and with 150km of range in Pure mode. It has the longest electric-only driving range of any hybrid car in the world. The Polestar 1 had its global reveal in Shanghai in October 2017 and will start production in mid-2019.

We’re very excited to see what other models are shown at Geneva. With most major manufacturers now committing significant resources to electrified drivetrains, we’re expecting some interesting announcements at this year’s show.
