The latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) confirms what many have already noticed—electric vehicle (EV) adoption is accelerating at an impressive rate. In February, EVs made up 25.3% of new car registrations, a significant jump from 17.7% last year, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) leading the way:

📈 BEVs up 41.7% (21,224 units)
📈 Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs) up 19.3%
📈 Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) up 7.9%

With the arrival of the new ‘25 plate in March and the last chance to avoid the Expensive Car Supplement (ECS) from April, EV registrations are expected to climb even higher. This surge highlights the urgent need for a robust and reliable public charging network to support the growing number of EV drivers.
