InstaVolt, the UK’s largest owner managed Rapid EV Charge Station operator, has announced its to be the headline sponsor of the 2020 Autocar Awards.

The Autocar Awards are among the most prestigious in the sector and because of lockdown the usually live celebration of the auto industry will be held online for the first time.

Recognising the cars that have achieved five-star road test verdicts over the past 12 months, the awards also boast a wide range of complementary categories. These include the person who has made the most outstanding contribution to the automotive industry over the past 12 months; innovation and excellence in the motoring industry and the most significant game changing cars.

InstaVolt’s CEO Adrian Keen said: “InstaVolt’s attitude to providing rapid EV charging is that of delivering excellence which makes us the perfect partner to sponsor Autocar’s annual awards. Through Autocar’s broad readership we will be introduced to an even bigger audience of current and prospective EV drivers across the UK who will learn that they too can rely on us to deliver a quick, easy and rapid charging experience.”

Autocar’s Editor Mark Tisshaw said: “Everyone at Autocar is extremely proud to have this annual chance to celebrate the most accomplished people in the automobile industry, still vital and vibrant despite the challenges. To a person our winners are high achievers and great role models, both for those of us who work on the magazine, and for our readers and followers. We offer them heartfelt congratulations.

“We’re especially proud to have InstaVolt, such a progressive and ambitious company, on board as event sponsor. EVs are now front and centre of the stories we write, and InstaVolt with them.”

Earlier this year, InstaVolt was named as the best electric vehicle charging network for multiple brands in 2020 by a national magazine.

EV and plug-in hybrid drivers were asked to rank public chargepoint providers in four key areas: how easy their chargers are to use; how much they cost; how fast they can top up a car’s batteries; and how much you can depend on the chargers to work.

The accolade adds to the recognition that InstaVolt earned in the Zap-Map survey where electric car drivers across the county named InstaVolt as their favourite charging network for multiple brands for the second year running.

InstaVolt has built its reputation on the philosophy that charging an electric vehicle should be quick and easy which is why, unlike many other companies, InstaVolt operates an ‘open charger’ model, so anyone can use its charging points on a pay-as-you-go basis. No monthly subscription and no membership cards are required with drivers just needing a contactless payment card to start a charging session
