Great news – the government has added more makes of cars to those already eligible for the first stage of the government grants. This makes electric driving more affordable, and we couldn’t be more encouraged for what this means for drivers across Great Britain.

With 13 new models joining the Electric Car Grant scheme, there are now 17 eligible vehicles under £37,000, including popular choices like the Renault 5, Nissan Ariya and British-built Vauxhall Astra Electric. These models offer an automatic £1,500 discount at the point of sale, bringing these cars within reach of more drivers than ever before.

This increase in the cars added to the list signifies a clear shift in increasing the EV market and with our network of over 2,000 charging points we have expanding our infrastructure with this increase in mind.

Whether you’re considering the compact Renault 5 for city driving or the spacious Nissan Ariya for family adventures, reliable charging is already in place where you need it – as our chargers are there when and where you need them most – whether that’s a late-night charge after a long shift or topping up during a weekend getaway. With simple payment that works with multiple payment options and an app that keeps track of everything, paying for charging is as straightforward as it should be.

The government’s £650 million commitment to reducing EV costs signals something important about Britain’s electric future. As more qualifying models become available and prices continue to fall, we have ensured the infrastructure is ready to support this growth with chargers up and down the country exactly where they are needed and the reliability to make electric driving work for every lifestyle. The electric transition is happening now, and the infrastructure is ready.
