Basingstoke MP and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change, Luke Murphy, has visited InstaVolt’s latest ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Chineham Business Park, recognising its role in supporting the UK’s transition to sustainable transport.

This new facility, which is now open to the public, features eight 160kW ultra-rapid chargers, providing EV drivers with fast, reliable, and convenient charging solutions.

The hub, located near the M3 and A33, is perfectly placed to serve local drivers and those travelling to and from the region. It reflects InstaVolt’s commitment to supporting the UK’s journey to net zero by expanding the nation’s EV charging infrastructure.

Luke Murphy praised the installation as an important step forward in making sustainable transport accessible: “I want it to be easier to buy and use an electric vehicle so that everyone can benefit from the shift to a cleaner economy.

“InstaVolt is doing exactly that, and I’m delighted to see this commitment right here in Basingstoke. So many people tell us that they want to switch to electric cars but are worried about options for charging.

“Companies like InstaVolt delivering this infrastructure in our community gives drivers more choice and the confidence to switch.”

Delvin Lane, CEO at InstaVolt, commented: “We’re thrilled to have Luke Murphy recognise the importance of our work at InstaVolt.

“The Chineham hub not only provides essential infrastructure for EV drivers but also supports the local community and contributes to the UK’s broader sustainability goals.”

Located in Frasers Property’s Chineham Business Park, the hub benefits from proximity to The Exchange café, where drivers can enjoy refreshments while charging.

The new EV hub aligns with Frasers Property’s strong sustainability ambitions.

The company is committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2050 and focuses on reducing energy consumption, increasing renewable energy use, and improving biodiversity across its developments.

Richard Hawkes, Estate Manager at Chineham Park commented: “Instavolt providing an ultra-rapid charging station at Chineham Park not only demonstrates our commitment to our own sustainability goals, but benefits our occupiers, helping them to more easily switch to electric vehicles. With an easy and convenient way to charge their vehicles during the working day, it will help with employee retention, attracting new talent and improving ESG initiatives across our community.”

This addition complements InstaVolt’s expanding network, which now boasts more than 1,800 chargers at 680 sites across the UK.

Luke Murphy’s visit highlights the alignment between local and national priorities in addressing climate change and transitioning to greener technologies.

InstaVolt remains committed to ensuring EV drivers can charge easily, quickly, and reliably, enabling more people to make the switch to electric vehicles.
