LCP is one of the UK’s leading privately owned investment and property management companies. The company has more than 410 sites nationwide, 3,500 tenants and 15,000,000 sq ft of retail and industrial property in its portfolio.

Because it has a large portfolio of industrial and retail properties with car parking facilities, in 2020 LCP sought to increase the service it offers to its customers and generate a new income stream, by installing EV charging points on its sites.

With the forecasted growth in electric vehicle sales, and usage of EV charging points predicted to increase, LCP also foresaw the primary reason for visits to their sites switching, from a retail only visit to an electric charging visit supplemented by retail consumption.

InstaVolt’s determination and drive to deliver the roll-out of EV chargers across LCP’s estate was one of the key reasons LCP decided to work with InstaVolt. As InstaVolt took care of everything, from site surveys and legalities, to planning permission and installation, it ensured LCP’s team could remain focused on their day-to-day roles.

Andrew Wood, Commercial Financial Controller at LCP, said:

“InstaVolt’s process from site identification to installation is to be praised. InstaVolt is driven to support and facilitate the legal process and installation to expedite the delivery of the charging points on site.”

The rapid and ultra-rapid chargers installed at LCP’s locations are capable of delivering between 50kW and 120kW in 20 – 30 minutes, enough time for a driver to grab a coffee, or pop to one of the nearby shops before continuing their journey.

The charging stations are visually appealing to LCP customers and, most importantly, provide LCP with peace of mind that its approach to EV charging is future-proofed as InstaVolt has installed rapid chargers with the latest technology.

InstaVolt’s approach to charging has seen it voted the most popular public network capable of charging all models of electric vehicles, for four consecutive years (2018 – 2021). Unlike many other charging networks, users don’t need a membership or RFID card, they simply tap their contactless credit or debit card, or use the optional InstaVolt app to pay.

LCP now has 55 installed chargers across 26 sites, with a further 125+ charging stations targeted over the next few years, supporting EV drivers and enhancing the use of its properties.
