The National Audit Office’s recent findings on EV infrastructure highlight the impressive progress made in expanding the UK’s charging network, and at InstaVolt, we’re proud to be at the forefront of this transition. With 1,771 chargers live across the UK and 471 more contracted for installation, we are helping to build the reliable, accessible, ultra-rapid charging network that drivers need. Unlike many initiatives, this growth has been achieved without relying on taxpayer funding. Instead, we’ve invested £120 million to date and are committed to investing a further £500 million by 2030, ensuring our part in the UK’s EV revolution.

This year alone, we’ve installed 426 chargers and are on track to have 11,000 chargers operational by 2030. While we celebrate this progress, we also recognise that expanding infrastructure is just one piece of the puzzle. We’d love to see more incentives for EV drivers, such as adjustments to VAT rates, to further support the adoption of EVs. With over 72,594 chargers nationwide, outnumbering the 8,353 operational petrol stations, the infrastructure to support EV adoption is already here and growing.

At InstaVolt, we remain dedicated to building a nationwide charging network that is accessible, and reliable for all drivers. By focusing on strategic investment, innovation, and collaboration with our leading industry partners, we are addressing current challenges and supporting goals for a decarbonised, electrified future.
