InstaVolt has revealed plans for a new ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Chineham Park in Basingstoke. The facility will bring eight 160kW chargers to the local area, offering drivers reliable and fast charging options in a key location just off the M3 and A33.

Providing convenient access for both business park users and commuters, the new site will cater to the growing number of electric vehicles on UK roads. With a café nearby, The Exchange, for refreshments, the hub is designed to enhance the charging experience by making it simple and stress-free for drivers.

InstaVolt’s commitment to sustainability is at the heart of this project, with all energy supplied by 100% renewable sources provided by Octopus Energy. This reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to support the UK’s transition to greener transport solutions and reduce road transport emissions.

“We’re delighted to bring our latest ultra-rapid charging hub to Chineham Park,” said Simon Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at InstaVolt. “This site is ideally located to serve both local businesses and drivers passing through the region, offering the reliable and accessible charging experience that InstaVolt is known for. As demand for electric vehicles grows, we’re proud to play our part in supporting greener, more sustainable travel in Basingstoke and beyond.”

The Chineham Park site is part of the ongoing expansion of InstaVolt’s charging network, which already boasts nearly 1,800 active chargers across the UK. It complements InstaVolt’s ongoing projects in Hampshire, including the upcoming Winchester Superhub which will boast 44 accessible bays and a solar panel array.

Scheduled to open at the end of January 2025, the new hub is part of InstaVolt’s mission to make EV charging as simple and efficient as possible for all drivers. Further details about the site’s launch will be shared closer to the opening date.
