Looking Back on a Record-Breaking Month
At InstaVolt, we’re always looking forward. That’s why we’re passionate about EVs and renewable energy, to safeguard the future of our planet for generations to come. But sometimes it’s also important to stop, take stock, and look back…
Last month we had lots to celebrate – not least the fact that we energised 62 rapid chargers across the UK, bringing us to up 75 chargers live in Q1. It’s no secret that our mission is to provide easy access to EV chargers across the country, and we’re delighted to be able to ramp up our installations to do just that.
This week our efforts have been rewarded by two awards. We were named Best Chargepoint Provider at the Business Motoring Awards, and Best E-Van Charge point at the Business Van Awards.
And all this has come at a good time. Despite the pandemic, interest in EVs is increasingly rapidly. In 2019, battery electric vehicles (BEV) made up just 1.7% of new car registrations. Now, two years later, the market share has risen to 7.8% – and we’re only in April.
As drivers become used to the idea of going electric, improvements in technology allay any previous fears over range. Couple this with the government’s incentives and investment for the private sector to install chargers and an increasing interest in the environment – and there’s a growing demand for an extensive network of reliable, green rapid chargers across the UK. It’s a challenge that we’re excited to be rising to.
Of course, ensuring that every EV driver has access to rapid charging involves a dedicated team of people – and we work with some incredible partners all over the country to ensure our rollouts are as smooth as possible. From our industry partners who are dedicated to provide their customers with access to our charge points at their locations, to our installation team that works tirelessly to get every charger online, we’re grateful to everyone that has joined us on this journey.
After such an exciting start to the year, we can’t wait to see what the rest of 2021 will bring!
