At InstaVolt, we’re thrilled to announce the opening of our latest EV charging hub at Caxton Gibbet, located just 20 minutes from the centre of Cambridge. This new hub is a key addition to our mission of providing convenient, high-speed EV charging across the UK.

What You Can Expect at Caxton Gibbet:

  • 12 Ultra-Rapid 160kW Chargers: Including three fully accessible bays to ensure everyone can benefit from fast charging
  • Strategic Location: Situated on major east-west routes between the A1 and M11, just off the A428 and within 20 minutes of the M11, it’s perfectly placed for long-distance and local drivers alike
  • Ideal for Holidaymakers and Day-Trippers: Whether you’re visiting the National Trust’s Wimpole Estate or Hayley Wood Nature Reserve, this hub is a convenient stop for exploring the East of England
  • On-Site Amenities: With McDonald’s and Costa nearby, we’ve made sure you can recharge both your vehicle and you in comfort

We’re proud to share that 100% of the power supplied to this hub comes from renewable energy sources, aligning with our commitment to sustainability and supporting the UK’s transition to net-zero.

This hub is part of our growing network of nearly 2,000 chargers across 730 sites, and it plays an important role in building the UK’s EV infrastructure to support the growing number of electric vehicles on the road—now over 1.4 million.

Simon Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at InstaVolt, commented “This new location is a key part of our network, strategically placed to support drivers travelling between the A1 and M11. By offering fast, accessible, and reliable charging, we’re enhancing convenience for local communities and long-distance travellers alike. This is another step in our commitment to building infrastructure that supports sustainable tourism and regional economic growth.”

We’re excited for the Caxton Gibbet hub to make EV journeys even more seamless!
