Zapmap shares InstaVolt’s news about the Winchester Superhub
Ten days since InstaVolt officially opened its doors; locals, commuters and families alike are making the most of the charging facilities at the Winchester Superhub. Zapmap shared this exciting news on their platforms.
Zapmap stated “Strategically positioned just off the A34, minutes from the M3, InstaVolt’s new Winchester Superhub boasts 44 ultra-rapid chargers, each capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 160kW. This location serves drivers travelling between the Midlands and the South Coast, as well as the 5.6 million visitors to Winchester each year.”
The Winchester Superhub is InstaVolt’s commitment to making EV charging more accessible and cost-effective, and with a launch price for InstaVolt app users of 50p per kWh for 7pm to 7am charging, it means this is one of the most affordable ultra-rapid charging sites in the UK.
Sustainability is at the heart of the Superhub, which integrates an on-site solar farm with 870 panels and a cutting-edge battery energy storage system capable of storing the equivalent of 1.5 million AA batteries. This innovative approach ensures that the site delivers reliable and sustainable charging while reducing reliance on the national grid and preventing over 94 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Danny Chambers local MP who officially opened the site with Martin Tod, Leader of Winchester City Council, said: “Anything that makes the transition to driving electric vehicles easier is vital for both the environment and our economy. I was particularly impressed by the integration between solar energy and EV charging which is a huge step towards true 100% sustainability.”
