A Smarter Summer Stop…ultra-rapid EV Charging at The Gissons Hotel, Exeter

With summer in full swing and road trips taking drivers west, we’re pleased to announce the extension of our Summer Special charging rate at our Exeter hub at The Gissons Hotel in Kennford. Perfectly positioned just off the A38, you can now benefit from our discounted seasonal pricing at this InstaVolt hub, giving EV drivers a convenient and comfortable place to stop, charge and relax on their way to some of the South West’s best-loved destinations.

The Summer Special rate is now live with drivers using the InstaVolt app or InstaVolt RFID card able to charge for just £0.50 per kWh. Those paying by contactless or with roaming partners can enjoy a competitive rate of £0.54 per kWh. These prices are available 24/7 until 31st August 2025.*

This site features eight ultra-rapid charging bays, including accessible bays, making it ideal for holidaymakers heading toward Dartmoor, Torquay, Salcombe and beyond, as well as locals and business travellers passing through Exeter. While your vehicle charges, you can enjoy a drink or snack at the hotel bar or take a moment to unwind in the peaceful Devon countryside.

The Summer Special rate of £0.54 per kWh is available to all contactless users and roaming customers until the 31st August 2025. Users of InstaVolt app and InstaVolt RFID card will be charged at £0.50 per kWh rate.  The InstaVolt Summer Special rates apply 24/7 at participating locations only:  

• Derby (Normanton Road, Derby, DE1 2GG)
• Southampton (Unit 1, Purlieu Centre, Hardley Ind Est, Southampton, SO45 3AE)
• Exeter (The Gissons Hotel, Kennford, Exeter, EX6 7UD)  
• Bodmin Hub (Bodmin Retail Park, Launceston Road, Bodmin, PL31 2GA)
• Syon Park (Park Road, Isleworth, London, TW8 8JF)
• Winchester Superhub (Andover Road, Winchester, SO21 3ET) 

After 7:00pm on 31st August 2025:   

• Pricing at all participating sites excluding Winchester Superhub will be charged at the standard rate of £0.87 per kWh. For InstaVolt app and InstaVolt RFID users the standard off peak rate of £0.54 per kWh (8:00pm – 7:00am) will apply.   
• Pricing at Winchester Superhub will be charged at the standard rate of £0.87 per kWh.  For InstaVolt app and InstaVolt RFID users the rates will be charged at £0.65 per kWh (7:00am – 7:00pm) and off-peak rate of £0.54 per kWh (7:00pm – 7:00am).
