Championing accessibility at our charging sites
John Jenkins MBE recently visited our Abingdon Hub at Fairacres Retail Park as it is the closest InstaVolt location to where he lives.
John has been a long-time supporter of InstaVolt, working closely with us over the years, particularly at our Banbury Hub, to ensure our accessible charging bays are practical and usable. His advice has helped us design improvements that make charging easier for wheelchair users and drivers with additional access needs, and he will continue to do so.
A truly inspirational individual, John represented Great Britain in table tennis at the 1984 Paralympics and was awarded an MBE for services to disability sport. Today, he continues to champion accessibility as the founder and chairman of the Wallingford Accessible Boat Club.
John said, “Working with InstaVolt over the last few years has been impressive – they’ve listened to my guidance and taken real action. It’s great to see accessible bays like this, making EV charging easier for people who need the extra space and lower readable screens like me.”
At InstaVolt, we’re proud to work with people like John whose insight helps us keep improving our network – making charging convenient, reliable, and accessible for all.
