InstaVolt has powered over 2 million charging sessions from January to September 2025, a substantial increase from the charging sessions recorded during the same period in 2024, marking World EV Day with evidence of Britain’s accelerating shift to electric vehicles.

The surge represents the mainstreaming of electric vehicle adoption as drivers increasingly turn to InstaVolt’s nationwide charging network.

This growth has been supported by impressive network expansion, as 81 new sites with 309 chargers have so far been installed throughout 2025, strengthening InstaVolt’s position as Britain’s most reliable public charging operator.

Every charging session is powered by 100% renewable energy, meaning the 600,000 additional journeys directly accelerate the UK’s progress towards net zero emissions by 2050 through both cleaner transport adoption and sustainable energy delivery.

The standout infrastructure achievement of 2025 has been the Winchester Superhub – a 44 ultra-rapid charger hub that represents the future of EV charging. This first-of-its-kind UK facility combines 160kW ultra-rapid chargers with on-site solar generation and battery storage, creating a self-sustaining charging ecosystem.

The year-on-year growth reflects increasing driver confidence in electric vehicles supporting the fact that there are now 1.63 million EVs on the road in 2025 so far, compared to 1.36 million for the whole of 2024. InstaVolt makes charging seamlessly accessible by delivering consistently reliable charging experiences at convenient destinations like McDonald’s and Booths supermarkets – the network is making EV charging as routine as any other stop during a shopping trip.

Now operating over 2,000 chargers nationwide, with a mission to install 11,000 in the UK and Ireland by 2030 – InstaVolt’s focus on reliability and accessibility is building the backbone infrastructure that makes electric vehicle ownership practical for mainstream Britain, directly supporting the transition away from fossil fuel dependency.
