InstaVolt Partners with Ireland’s Largest Flower Farm
We’re delighted to announce the opening of our newest ultra-rapid charging site at Elmgrove Irish Flower Farm, Sarsfieldstown, just off the M1 between Drogheda and Dublin, featuring 2 160kW chargers powered by renewable energy.
This remarkable location represents much more than just a charging destination – it’s Ireland’s largest flower farm, operated by the McCullough family for over 80 years. The latest generation to take the reins is Darragh McCullough, who has transformed the traditional farm into a thriving retail destination that seamlessly blends agriculture with modern amenities.
Visitors can explore the expansive flower farm with its on-site florist, gift shop and garden centre, or enjoy meals at the café and multiple food outlets, and let the children play in the covered playground. The working farm continues its agricultural heritage with a dairy operation run in partnership with neighbours, crops, foliage cultivation and seasonal Christmas tree growing.
Darragh McCullough, who is also the award-winning author of The Great Irish Farm Book and reports on rural life, saw the perfect synergy between sustainable transport and sustainable farming. “I teamed up with InstaVolt because I liked the idea of ultra-rapid chargers being able to give passing traffic another reason to stop at our relatively new retail site. It is a long term commitment but the quality of the infrastructure InstaVolt have put in place is evidence of their professional approach. The team on the ground were very helpful and professional,” explains Darragh.
Whether you’re seeking fresh flowers, planning a family outing, or exploring the authentic charm of Irish farm life, Elmgrove Irish Flower Farm offers EV drivers a unique charging experience that celebrates the best of Ireland’s agricultural heritage while powering the future of clean transportation.
