InstaVolt reopens Birmingham charging site with enhanced cable theft protection

EV drivers in Birmingham can now charge with confidence following the reopening of InstaVolt’s charging site at KFC Tyburn, now equipped with the latest CableGuard™ anti-theft technology.

Located just off Kingsbury Road the site is back online after cable damage recently and its now part of InstaVolt’s growing list of sites protected by CableGuard™.

This Tyburn site is now fully restored and more secure, offering the same trusted convenience EV drivers expect from InstaVolt. With on-site amenities such as KFC, you can pop in and have a bite while your car is plugged in.

InstaVolt first introduced CableGuard™ in April 2025 as part of its nationwide strategy to combat cable theft. CableGuard™ is a high-strength cable sleeve that if interfered with releases a forensic liquid that glows under UV light and is traceable to a specific location making it a powerful deterrent and supporting law enforcement in tracking and prosecuting offenders.
