Junior Data Engineer

InstaVolt Head Office – Chineham Business Park, Basingstoke

Office working with flexibility to work from home 1 or 2 days a week

Joining a quickly growing data team, the Junior Data Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and growing InstaVolt’s Data Warehouse and Data Pipeline.  The role will involve working closely with our Data Engineer and Data Analysts to deliver enhancements and expand functionality.  The successful candidate will have a keen interest in data modelling and solving technical problems as well as a clear desire to learn and contribute to the success of the Team.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor the Data Stack, identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Build and modify data models using dbt Core and VS Code.
  • Review and analyse potential new data sources.
  • Integrate new data sources into the Data Pipeline and Data Warehouse.

Required Qualifications

  • SQL, preferably PostgreSQL or Snowflake SQL
  • Understanding of Cloud Data Warehouse concepts and design
  • Knowledge of SOAP and REST APIs
  • Python scripting, JSON, YAML

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of any of the following is preferred, but not required:
    • Git / version control / CI/CD using Bitbucket
    • Fivetran, dbt and Snowflake
    • AWS S3 and Lambda
