Role Overview:
As a Project Developer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of EV charging sites from early feasibility through to construction readiness. The role is focused on site suitability, design coordination, planning and project progression.
You will work closely with CAD Technicians, Connections, Sales and Legal teams, and external consultants to ensure projects are developed efficiently, accurately, and in line with company standards.
The role includes responsibility for managing the planning approval process where required, including assessing planning risk, coordinating applications, liaising with local authorities, and supporting submissions through to approval. Planning consultants will support complex schemes, but ownership of the process remains with the role.
This role is ideal for someone confident managing projects and designs, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to further develop their experience within the EV infrastructure sector.
You will report into a Lead Project Developer (or the Head of Project Development where required) and will not have direct line management responsibility.
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 Depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop EV charging sites from initial assessment through to construction packs and as built drawings.
- Review site information and documentation to assess feasibility and suitability.
- Create, review, and coordinate design proposals in collaboration with CAD Technicians and consultants.
- Manage the planning approval process for assigned sites, including assessing planning suitability and risk, coordinating applications, and liaising with local authorities through to approval.
- Manage elements of client portfolios and liaise with clients where appropriate.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support project development.
- Suggest and support continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and process improvements.
- Ensure all site designs meet required standards, technical requirements, and quality expectations.
- Maintain accurate records and track site progress across multiple projects.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Skills & Competencies needed for this role:
- Experience in project development, design coordination, or infrastructure delivery.
- AutoCAD (or similar) experience preferred
- Experience with the planning approval process preferred however not essential
- Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Strong administrative skills for tracking progress and sharing information.
- A collaborative team player with a professional approach.
- Interest in the EV industry and enthusiasm to learn and develop.
