December marked a strong close to the year for the InstaVolt network, with continued progress across both new site activations and our nationwide upgrade programme. Together, these developments reflect our ongoing commitment to expanding coverage, improving reliability and delivering a consistently high-quality charging experience for EV drivers across the UK.

During the month, we activated eighteen new ultra-rapid chargers across five new locations, further strengthening our network and increasing access to fast, dependable charging. These new sites help support drivers on everyday journeys as well as longer trips, ensuring ultra-rapid charging is available where it’s needed most.

Alongside new openings, December also saw upgrades completed at nine existing InstaVolt locations. Our upgrade programme focuses on modernising older sites, improving performance and ensuring our infrastructure continues to meet the needs of a growing EV community. By investing in upgrades as well as expansion, we’re able to maintain industry-leading reliability across the network.

Each activation and upgrade plays an important role in building a future-ready charging network. Whether drivers are visiting a brand-new site or returning to a familiar location with upgraded technology, our goal remains the same: to provide simple, reliable and ultra-rapid charging that fits seamlessly into every journey.

As we move into the new year, we remain focused on continuing this momentum – expanding our footprint, upgrading existing infrastructure and supporting electric mobility.
