Winchester’s Rebecca is an EV Charging Record Breaker!
At InstaVolt, we love hearing stories about how our sites fit into people’s lives – but every now and then, one really stands out. This month, we’re celebrating someone who might just be the UK’s most frequent user of public EV chargers: Winchester’s own Rebecca Parramore.
Rebecca, 27, is an audiologist who travels almost 200 miles a day across the south of England, visiting patients in their homes to carry out hearing tests. With no home charger and a full schedule on the road, she relies entirely on public charging to keep her moving. Since our Winchester Superhub opened in March 2025, Rebecca has plugged in there more than 175 times (and counting!) – making her our most prolific user at the site.
For Rebecca, the Superhub has become more than just a place to top up, it’s become part of her everyday routine. To recognise her commitment – and to say thank you for being such a brilliant ambassador for EV driving – our CEO, Delvin Lane, surprised Rebecca during one of her regular visits with a luxury Christmas hamper filled with festive treats sourced from local New Forest suppliers.
The Winchester Superhub itself stands as the flagship location in our network. As the UK’s largest single-operator charging site, it offers 44 ultra-rapid 160kW chargers and brings thoughtful design together with practical features, including:
- Fully accessible bays
- Drive-through bays for larger and towing vehicles
- An on-site Starbucks
- 24/7 toilet facilities
- A children’s play zone and dog-walking areas
Behind the scenes, the site has advanced energy infrastructure consisting of an 870 solar farm and on-site battery storage which helps balance demand and reduce pressure on the national grid, with any additional electricity sourced entirely from renewable energy through our partnership with Octopus Energy.
Winchester’s success follows a landmark year for InstaVolt, with the Superhub collecting three major industry awards and solidifying its place as a benchmark for the future of EV charging in the UK.
And for drivers like Rebecca, it’s part of everyday life – helping them do their jobs, stay on the road and experience the convenience of ultra-rapid charging done right.
