InstaVolt are the largest owner operator of ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging stations across the UK and we pride ourselves on customer experience and satisfaction. Our teams provide a full range of support to our stations, as well as playing a crucial role in the expansion of the network and the continuation of our reputation as best in the industry.

To support our growth, we are looking to recruit an FP&A Analyst (Financial Planning and Analysis), with a great work ethic and the ability to work under their own initiative, to support our in-house finance team.

This is a great opportunity to get involved with one of the fastest growing companies in an industry that is going to see huge growth over the coming years.

Role overview:

The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in driving financial insight and performance reporting across the InstaVolt Group, working closely with the Head of FP&A in a fast-moving, PE-backed environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong financial knowledge and an analytical, commercial mindset, going beyond the numbers to understand what is driving performance and translating that into clear, confident communication for senior stakeholders.

Day-to-day, the role encompasses ownership of the group consolidation and reporting process, monthly variance analysis, and active involvement in the annual budget and quarterly reforecast cycles. Working cross-functionally with entity finance teams across the group, the analyst will help shape and manage the month-end timetable whilst supporting the development and maintenance of the business’s financial models.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain group consolidation reporting function, ensuring that internal and external reporting requirements are met
  • Own and manage the month-end timetable, including leading stand-ups and review meetings and presenting monthly results to key stakeholders
  • Produce monthly forecast/budget variance analysis, highlighting any issues with key business stakeholders and maintaining forecast outturn scenarios
  • Assist Head of FP&A in developing and managing forecast/budget processes, working with the wider finance team who own the core inputs.
  • Assist Head of FP&A with preparation of performance decks and board reports covering a range of financial outputs as well as market & competitor insights.
  • Support with maintaining and updating of the businesses forecast/budget model
  • Support and develop existing value-add initiatives, taking ownership of progress and helping drive them forward within the FP&A function
  • Assist with the preparation of investor and PE reporting, supporting data collation and analysis as required

Key attributes & characteristics:

  • Naturally analytical, intellectually curious and data-driven, with the ability to turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insight and a drive to understand the why behind the numbers, not just report them
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to pivot quickly in response to shifting priorities and comfortable operating with ambiguity and ad hoc demands
  • Self-starter, but able to work cross-functionally and within a team

Key skills and experience required

  • Qualified accountant – CIMA / ACCA / ACA (Part/newly qualified also considered)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance team, including production of management accounts and senior stakeholder reporting
  • Strong financial expertise across 3-statements, scenario analysis and ad-hoc analysis
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or equivalent data visualisation tools
  • High level of proficiency in developing forecast/budget models
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modelling

Benefits to include:

  • Competitive salary – dependent on experience & qualifications
  • 10% discretionary annual bonus
  • Access for you & your family to join our Help@Hand virtual private healthcare app
  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
  • 1 Paid volunteering day per year
