InstaVolt partnered with LondonMetric Property PLC to continue it’s commitment to providing rapid charging across desirable UK real estate locations.

A landmark deal between InstaVolt and the leading real estate management company was announced early in 2023, with 10 key sites already agreed for the introduction of rapid chargers. The new rapid charging hub at Dunelm is the largest site launched in partnership with London Metric to-date and is located at Apex Retail Park on Upper Conybere Street, just off the inner-city ring road, on the fringes of the low-emission zone and only 10 minutes from Birmingham city centre.

The Story:

As they continue to expand their real estate portfolio, London Metric recognised in partnership with InstaVolt there was a perfect opportunity to add high-speed charging to busy locations, with amenities for drivers to enjoy

London Metric chose InstaVolt to deliver sustainable infrastructure to the wide portfolio of locations, understanding that InstaVolt represented a clear market leader with a reputation for responsibly constructing and delivering rapid chargers in clear timeframes.

The sites in Birmingham and Burton-on-Trent were also constructed with a clear focus on responding to customer needs and in line with PAS1899 BSI standards, with the provision for accessible charging bays as part of InstaVolt’s commitment to provide accessible charging at new site locations.

Both sites  include a number of accessible features such as chargers installed flush to the ground at the same level as the parking bay, removal of wheel stops and adequate lighting throughout. InstaVolt will continue to look at accessibility needs for all future LondonMetric sites in the wider portfolio and install charging bays with accessibility in mind.

The Solution

InstaVolt has built two-sites with London Metric Property to date, with atleast 10 in the pipeline.

The eight charger hub at Dunelm is one of the largest in the surrounding area and has provided a huge boost to the growing number of EV drivers travelling in and out of the city centre. The five chargers in place at Burton-on-Trent have seen comparable results and provided huge support to drivers in the local areas as well as traffic through to Derby and Sheffield.

The Reward

Since implementation of the chargers at London Metric sites in Birmingham and Burton-on-Trent, footfall has increased dramatically across both locations. Drivers enjoy the central location, easy access to main roads and fast, reliable charging experience.

Speaking on the installation of onsite chargers, Andrew Jones, CEO of LondonMetric said:

“I’m delighted to be working with InstaVolt as part of our strategy to increase electric vehicle chargers across our portfolio. The InstaVolt brand is well known for its reliability and ease of use, both of which are critical to customers looking for rapid charging.”

LondonMetric owns one of the UK’s leading listed logistics platforms alongside a grocery-led long income portfolio. It owns £3.5bn of assets across 17m square feet, providing the partnership with prime locations across the UK.”
