We are writing to inform you of an update to our tariff. From 15th November 2022, charging on the InstaVolt network will cost 75p per kWh for all customers across all payment types.

Whilst we have continued to absorb inflated energy and supply chain costs wherever possible during these extraordinary times, we have had to make the difficult decision to increase our tariff. While we understand this will cause disappointment, we remain committed to continuing our build programme, bringing more chargers online across the country, investing in a new hub strategy, and maintaining an industry leading standard of reliability.

We have sought to keep this increase minimal, and we can assure our customers that we see no need for any further increase this winter, offering some stability to drivers at a time of continued economic uncertainty.

We continue to fight the disparity in the VAT rate between a home energy tariff attracting a rate of 5% and the public charging rate of 20%. In September, along with 20 other charge point operators, we signed an open letter to HM Treasury calling for an immediate cut in VAT on public charging and we encourage wider campaign efforts to align the rates of VAT. We reiterate our commitment that if the public charging rate is reduced, the benefit will be passed back to consumers immediately. For example, if the public charging VAT rate was reduced to 5%, our price would be 66p per kWh.

We thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Kind regards,

The InstaVolt Team
