UK, LONDON, 5th April 2022 – Leading EV charge point supplier, InstaVolt, has launched one of the UK’s largest EV charging hubs in Banbury, Oxfordshire as part of the organisation’s commitment to improving the country’s charging infrastructure.

Work started on the Banbury hub expansion in January 2022, adding eight state of the art 150kW Alpitronic chargers to the already stationed eight 125kW chargers. This takes the total number to 16 rapid chargers at the site, in response to increased demand for reliable, rapid, easy to use charge points across the country.

In addition to the new rapid chargers, the site’s overall services have been significantly upgraded with additional lighting, wider access spaces and two longer spaces to accommodate the rising number of electric vans and fleet vehicles. There are also plans for seating on site and a small wildflower meadow, to increase biodiversity and create a habitat for pollinating insects.

The popular charging network has pledged to grow to 10,000 rapid chargers by 2032. This significant expansion at Banbury, as well as its continued work with national partners including Costa Coffee, McDonald’s Restaurants, Bannatyne Health Clubs and Booths Supermarkets, forms part of the organisation’s commitment and active efforts to improve the UK’s EV charging infrastructure.

In the 12 months to March 2022, InstaVolt has undergone huge growth, expanding its network by 45% to serve the increasing number of EV drivers as the UK accelerates its transition to electric vehicles.

InstaVolt’s Chief Executive Officer, Adrian Keen said: “InstaVolt is committed to providing real solutions to consumers’ demands and as a company, we go further than just installing charge points where we see demand – we work on the overall experience. As well as expanding the site, we have introduced better lighting and a variety of parking bay sizes to accommodate different vehicles, all whilst continuing to offer class-leading reliability and simple, contactless payment.

“We know that the key to encouraging uptake of electric vehicles falls largely on the shoulders of organisations like InstaVolt who are instrumental in placing the infrastructure. We take great pride and pleasure in ensuring that this infrastructure is implemented to create the best user experience possible.

“The launch of the Banbury hub follows our most successful period to date and is indicative of our continued methods of activity as we work toward our 2032 goal.”

The InstaVolt charger network delivers rapid charge via simple, contactless payment with no customer sign up or subscription required.
