InstaVolt set to open new ultra-rapid charging hub at Reading Gate

Drivers in Reading will soon benefit from a brand-new ultra-rapid EV charging hub at Reading Gate retail park, just off Junction 11 of the M4.

InstaVolt, the UK’s leading ultra-rapid charging network, is preparing to open its new site at Reading Gate, featuring 12 ultra-rapid chargers supported by on-site battery energy storage. All chargers will be powered by 100% renewable energy and available 24/7 once the site opens.

The site sits alongside KFC, Wingstop, B&Q, McDonald’s, Costa, Next, TK Maxx, Smyths and Currys, giving drivers a wide range of food, drink and retail options while they charge. The hub will also include three fully accessible bays.

The new hub will be InstaVolt’s second site in the Reading area, complementing its existing eight ultra-rapid chargers at Reading FC’s Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Once open, drivers will be able to pay via contactless card, the free InstaVolt app or RFID card, with off-peak rates of 55p per kWh between 8pm and 7am available through the InstaVolt app or RFID card.

With more than 4,250 chargers across 1,200 locations in the UK and Ireland, InstaVolt is continuing to grow its network to make reliable, ultra-rapid charging more accessible to drivers.
