EV drivers in and around Northampton now have even more access to public charging following the opening of a new InstaVolt hub at St PeterWay Retail Park.

The new site features eight ultra-rapid chargers, each capable of delivering speeds of up to 160kW, allowing drivers to charge their vehicles quickly and conveniently.

With two accessible bays included, the hub supports the UK’s leading ultra-rapid charging network’s ongoing commitment to inclusive and accessible charging for all.

Strategically situated alongside key retail and leisure facilities, including Argos, Home Bargains and PureGym, the site enables drivers to make the most of their time by shopping, exercising, or running errands while their vehicle charges.

All InstaVolt chargers run on 100% renewable energy from sources including wind and solar, ensuring every charge supports the transition to cleaner transport. The combination of ultra-rapid charging speeds and clean energy means drivers can add significant range to their vehicles in minutes while minimising their environmental impact.

The site adds to InstaVolt’s growing network across the UK, playing a vital role in supporting Northamptonshire’s EV infrastructure and enhancing charging availability for drivers traveling between the Midlands and London along the M1 corridor and along the A508.

As with all InstaVolt locations, the chargers are available 24/7, support contactless payment via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amex and major credit/debit cards, and are powered by 100% renewable energy.

This latest installation is part of InstaVolt’s continued rollout of dependable, high-speed public charging in everyday destinations, making EV ownership easier and more practical than ever. InstaVolt now has more than 2,100 chargers across 750 sites in the UK,  and is well on its way to its targeted 11,000 by 2030.
