The role
We’re seeking an ambitious, commercially minded and data-driven Marketing Manager to lead customer growth, retention and loyalty for InstaVolt. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, you will be responsible for increasing charging frequency, customer lifetime value and retention across our existing customer base. This includes ownership of customer lifecycle marketing, loyalty and rewards programmes, customer engagement campaigns and the growth of roaming partner activity across the InstaVolt network.
This role will own customer engagement throughout the customer lifecycle, developing targeted CRM, loyalty, promotional and behavioural marketing programmes that encourage drivers to choose InstaVolt more often. Working closely with Product, Data, Operations and Commercial teams, you’ll use customer insight and performance data to create campaigns that drive measurable growth in active customers, charging sessions and revenue.
Success in this role will be measured through customer engagement, retention, charging frequency and lifetime value rather than traditional marketing outputs.
Salary: Up to £60,000 + 10% discretionary annual bonus
Key Responsibilities:
CRM & Customer Lifecycle
• Own the CRM strategy across email, push notifications, SMS and in-app communications.
• Build and optimise automated customer journeys from app download through to loyal advocate.
• Create customer lifecycle programmes that encourage repeat charging behaviour.
• Develop onboarding, retention, reactivation and loyalty campaigns.
Loyalty & Rewards
• Lead the development and optimisation of InstaVolt’s rewards programme.
• Drive customer participation and engagement with loyalty initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to increase charging frequency through targeted rewards and incentives.
• Work closely with commercial partners to deliver compelling customer offers.
Customer Growth & Retention
• Develop strategies to increase monthly active users and repeat charging sessions.
• Identify customer segments with the greatest growth opportunities.
• Implement targeted campaigns to reduce churn and increase customer lifetime value.
• Create programmes to encourage app users to make InstaVolt their preferred charging network.
Customer Insights & Performance
• Analyse customer behaviour, charging patterns and campaign performance.
• Develop actionable insights from customer data and translate them into growth opportunities.
• Work closely with data teams to improve audience segmentation and personalisation.
• Establish testing frameworks to optimise campaign performance and customer engagement.
Commercial Marketing
• Support network utilisation through targeted regional and national campaigns.
• Work with local and national businesses and partners to create offers that drive charging occasions.
• Identify opportunities to influence charging behaviour during peak travel periods and seasonal events.
Stakeholder Management
• Work closely with Product, Commercial, Operations and Customer Service teams to improve the end-to-end customer experience.
• Present performance updates, insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team.
• Manage agency relationships and ensure activity is aligned to business objectives.
Roaming Partnerships
• Own the marketing strategy to drive charging sessions and revenue through roaming partners.
• Work closely with roaming partners to develop and execute joint marketing campaigns that increase utilisation of the InstaVolt network.
• Identify opportunities to improve visibility of InstaVolt chargers within roaming partner apps and customer journeys.
• Develop campaigns that encourage roaming customers to become direct InstaVolt app users where commercially appropriate.
• Analyse roaming partner performance and recommend initiatives to grow usage, customer acquisition and revenue.
• Build strong working relationships with marketing teams across roaming partners to maximise promotional opportunities.
• Support the launch of new roaming partnerships and ensure customers understand how to access the InstaVolt network through partner platforms.
• Track and report on roaming partner performance against agreed commercial and utilisation targets.
Requirements:
• 5-10 years’ experience in CRM, customer marketing, retention, loyalty or growth marketing roles.
• Proven track record of developing marketing programmes that drive customer engagement, retention, frequency and revenue growth.
• Strong understanding of customer lifecycle marketing, segmentation and personalisation.
• Experience managing CRM platforms and delivering campaigns across email, push notifications, SMS and in-app channels.
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate customer insight into measurable business outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting customer and campaign performance data to inform decision-making.
• Experience developing and optimising customer loyalty, rewards or membership programmes.
• Ability to build business cases, identify growth opportunities and measure return on investment.
• Experience working with external partners or agencies to deliver joint marketing activity and commercial objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across Product, Commercial, Operations, Customer Service and Leadership teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations and performance updates to senior stakeholders.
• Highly organised with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.
• Results-oriented with a test-and-learn mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience of driving customer engagement through partnerships, loyalty programmes or affiliate networks would be advantageous.
• Experience of working with roaming partners, travel brands, mobility providers or digital partner ecosystems would be beneficial.
• Experience within subscription, retail, mobility, automotive, fintech, telecoms or other customer-centric businesses would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of the EV charging market is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
